Dick,
Those are some good ones to look for.
While you sort the coins as long as you keep each date and MM seperate you can go back again and look for other more minor ones. I find many minor things on the second or third look! I wonder what stuff I got rid of years ago when I only looked for the big ones.
Good luck and hope you find a good one!

Dick,
I have no problems with the information you provided for our forum membership. It does indeed give them a place to go for information concerning the areas you mentioned. We are pretty much limited to cent varieties right now, and I have no problems directing folks to where they can get information if needed. Thanks for the info in your post.

ED, I have always sorted this way: pretty well along the line that Chuck suggests, but with a bit of a flourish; To wit: I have a rack that holds twenty tubes, or paper rolls. each one is dated, and as I go thru thr coins in a roll, I distribuite them into the tubes, according to date, and the "P" coins go into a seperate dish, or a second holder for the "P", or "S", as the case may be. That way I only handle them the one time during the sorting phase. The dates, ie, '60,''70, '74, and '82 areset aside as found, and ready for further inspection.. Once determined, the rest of the "box" can be counted, and then searched, according to date, and/or mint. The boxes are also indexed by decade, unless it happens to be a solid date/mint box. Here is where the links come into play: My memory is so short, that inless there is a list of what to look for, (and there are MANY things), I get lost! So I use a crutch! On the dates mentioned above, it is not necessary to have a large dish. There aren't that many. Less than a roll, in most cases.
