I submitted a bunch of error coins to ANACS to understand if I was accurately identifying them and to get an idea of what the grades might be. Here are the results:

Denom Year Error Grade
50c 1964-D Triple die obverse FS-013.6 Die 5 MS 60
50c 1959 DDR Breen 5251 MS 63

1c 1936 DDO Die 1 VF 35
1c 1941 DDO FS-018.1 Die 2 EF 45 and EF 40 (2 coins)
1c 1941 DDO FS-018 Die 1 EF 45 and EF Details, Net VF 30 cleaned
1c 1947 DDO FS-021.3 Die 1 AU 50
1c 1949 D/D RPM #5 AU 58
1c 1951 D DDO FS-021.4 Die 1 AU 58
1c 1944 D/S OMM-1 VF 35
1c 1951 D/S OMM-1 AU 58
1c 1961 D/D RPM-12 MS 64 Red

5c 1977 s Proof 6 Steps Heavy Cameo PF 67

In total I submitted 17 coins and I had correctly identified 14 of the 17. A couple turned out not to be DDO which I assume means they were machine doubling.

It's also possible that those other 3 coins could be DDs. ANACS may not be aware of *all* doubled dies. Or it may be too minor for them, but not too minor for real collectors!

Some pretty nice close-up photos! I have those same varieties in about the same condition, but don't want to have them graded. Anyway....nice job on the pics. Send us more as you take them...OK?

Cool pics, abe. I have the same web site. Check out my pics of the 1943 non DDO in this same section and you can probably access any other pics I have.
