This 5 cent has doubled edges on 4 of the twelve sides, shame on me (Canadian ) I don't recall if this is typical or not. I don't save much Canadian so I don't have any other 12 sided 5 Cents to compare it. Anyone know?

That is not common on those 5 cent pieces. It is what I would call some sort of strike doubling though.

A double struck in collar wouldn't apply here. Most double struck in collar errors affect the more center portions of the coin. I am thinking there was a loose die and some 'chatter' occured during the strike.
