Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all as well.

No coins under the tree for me this year (again). I must have been on the bad list. But I did get some cash - so I just may have to make a bank run tomorrow.

If any of you got coins for Christmas.. tell us what you got.

Ken, I didn't get any coins, either. Just the usual: Socks, new pair of sjhoes, and some handkerchiefs. My "coins gifts", came on halloween, as my birthday presents. 8 boxes of cents. LOL I told my Brother that being as they were coming over from AZ, and I was involved in the cent Project, that I wanted them, (brother, and two sisters), to bring the boxes, 4 from southern AZ., and 4 from the North/central area. I gave them the money when they arrived, as I had said I would. Then when they were leaving, they returned the money to me, saying they didn't have any idea as to a birthday present, they decided to make the boxes the presents! I have gotten some of them checked, and had to finish the Project search first. I did three areas. So. CA .was the third. We are having VERY strong winds, here. Knocked a limb off a tree in Fontana, and knocked out the power to the appartments, where we spent the night with our daughter, and her kids. Never a dull moment!

I didn't get any coins, but got something better. For those of you who knew and have been following this story, my son-in-law has been in jail since July for a violation of probation from 2000. He was sentenced to a year in jail. Although he got what he deserved for not following through on his obligations, it put tremendous stress on my daughter and granddaughter as well as me. I managed to keep the company from folding, and financially I had just enough in savings to keep his family and myself from going under as well.
Anyway, we petitioned the court for a reduction in sentence, and last week it was granted and we got him back home. I am hoping things can get back to normal, but just seeing him there with his daughter and my daughter made for a very joyous Christmas indeed. He missed the baby's first teeth, first words, and first steps. He won't miss anything else I hope.
I guess the moral of this story is...when you are young and stupid, it always comes back to bite you in the ass. He didn't just hurt himself by violating his probation 7 years ago, but ultimately hurt the ones he loves the most. Sad story, very good ending. God Bless all of you and I look forward to a very prosperous New Year for all of you.

Merry Christmas all my new friends! I got an extra special gift this Christmas. My sister and her husband were in a head on collision on Dec. 21, Paul had a punctured lung and lacerations to his face and his knee was swollen and bruised. Sharon had a tear in her small and large intestine and rib fractures. Sharon had a more difficult time and was put on life support the evening of the 21st. My Cristmas present came Christmas Eve when I was told that she was taken off the ventilator and breathing on her own. I got my scope, but the best gift was my sisters improved condition and Pauls recovery. Both are expected to do well. Life... the most precious gift of all! Safe holidays to all of you.

Sandra, I'm glad you got your scope, and even more glad that your family members are doing well. Our prayers are with you, and all who have any need. Merry Christmas.

Bob, I am glad thuings are strting to work out for you, and yours. I hope '08 will bring to ALL of us, the things we desire the most. Not the material things, the things that are the most cherished, our children, and their health, and sense of responsibility.

I am so happy for all of the good news that seems to be coming in this thread. I especially wish your sister and her husband a speedy recovery Sandra. Those things are so sudden, and you never know one day from the next what life changing event might come to pass. Here's hoping 2008 is a good one for all my friends here at the coppercoins forum.
