While searching some Rolls of BU 1959D Lincolns I found this strang item. It looks loke it just might be a D but it is located in the field nexy yo Lincolns sholder under Liberty. Let me know what you think. There is also a closser view in the test section. lucky2

Very interesting Lucky. I can't say I have ever seen that one before. If it is a D mintmark, it would be the furthest punched of any known variety. I would ask Chuck. Maybe he has some info, or maybe we can get it for a closer inspection. Keep us informed...OK?

Bob I am waiting for Chuck to see it and make a decision. I can send it to anyone that can advance its status.
Sometimes I feel like I am searching coins that have been searched by 100 people befor me then I find something like this and its all good. lucky2

I don't see it as an extra D, it appears to be a well place die gouge to me. Not completely sure until I have a chance to examine the coin in person.
