Ed, that is a nice bunch of errors. I will dig out mine, one of these days, and post them. I notice you don't mash the staples down flat. You should, to avoid scratching another coin with them. I keep a set of big electricians pliars handy, jusrt for that chore.
Dahhid,Sandra, tell me why the Canadians are using the same, or similar alloy in the cents, as the US, but I have not seen any indications of the horrible junk that we are circulating, under the Name of "cents", in the few coins I have received. I'll clarify that statement a bit. The ones you sent were later years, and there were a few corroded ones in the batch, but there were also a tube, -5 cents of Memorials. Mosrt of them are sad, at best. I'm sure you received the same thing with those I sent.

The modern US cents are zinc with copper plating and they're not magnetic.

The modern Canadian cents are steel with a copper coating and they're magnetic.

Seems like zinc just makes junky coins LOL.

ED, that's true. The '86's are a mixed bag. Some are magnetic, and some ore not. I used my magnet to check a lot of the opnes that Sandra, (Daggit), sent. That is when I found that the 2007's are steel I'm very new to Canadian cents, and I'm finding a lot of errors, (BUT not in your batch, Sandra. In fact, I havent started looking thru them yet). Tthey lke our, (US) are prettywell gone thru, I imagine. The ones I'm finding came from AZ.. Lazybones67, talks about wondering when the floor joists are going to fail, and the floor give away. He should think about me, I live in a mobile home! I worry about that scenario, too! I did find a couple more '49 AT's

Dick, for some reason our cents hold up quite well and I have no idea why. Yes I got a few nasties in the bunch but it's been fun anyway Smile

Sandra, I have bad news. Not to worry, it is more like bad information. I went thru all my '49's, and net result is ONE AT, over 90, are between. My display has tricked my! I viewed all of them with the scope, and found where I have been misled. Distortion!
On another note, yes tha general appearance of the boxes are going from bad yo worse! I iopened a box that I got yesterday, and there were a dozen bright coins in the top ten rolls! probably 2007's that haven'y "burst their seams"!

The mint does produce 'Mint sewn Bags' for certain designs (i.e. state quarters, dollars, and probably any new design that pops up). I wonder if these bags might be the only place where the types of errors that won't get past the rolling equipment could possibly turn up. Of course, you are paying a premium for the coins in "Mint sewn bags" so trying to prove my theory could be an expensive undertaking.

Russellhome, the mint sewn bags that I have gotten leave much to be desired! I bought two each "D", and "P" nickel rolls, and a bag of (100) 2005 quarters. I was going to sell them on ebay. What I got was the most disgusting mess of "floor sweepings" I have ever seen! the quarters were all spotted, and stained. The nickels all looked like they had been used in a nickel poker game. Some were actually sticky.
I don't believe that is the type "mint sewn bag" that one would expect. I am looking for a $50.00 bag of cents, that are, (more like were) common in years past. I think these are "mint-sewn bags" that are referred to. I could be wrong, (as usual).

Sandra, is there a call for doubled-die coins there in Canada? I ask, because I see very few, (of course I seen very few Canadian coins), and thought I'd ask. This is what I mean:
