I am very proud that I am from Illinois, where Reagan was born and raised. He was an announcer for the Chicago Cubs early in his show business career and I have heard some of that tape. He was a very quiet, non-assuming person and achieved greatness. HIs greatest achievement was the disassembly of the Berlin Wall. I will miss him.

I was very saddened to hear the news, albeit four days late. I didn't have much access to the news overseas. After hearing of his death I took about a half hour to sit quietly and listen to the waves of the sea while I reflected on his impact on my life.

Ronald Reagan, in my humble opinion, was one of the greatest presidents of the latter 20th century. A lot happened during his presidency that he at least took part in that improved our world as a whole. Mr. Reagan, Ms. Thatcher, and Mr. Gorbachov did a lot to ensure the fall of the Iron Curtain and the opening of the European borders, and I can tell you from first hand accounts that the people of Europe were and still are very appreciative of his efforts.

He was a gentleman, scholar, model president, and will be missed. We've not had another one like him since, and unfortunately may never have one that causes so much positive impact on our world.
