Here's a nice die break I found in a BU roll of 2007 Lincolns. It's pretty cool to see a group of these, and if I'm not mistaken, some progression of the break between coins. I imagine I'll have a few hundred of these by the end of searching this box.

Kurt, those are great! Or should I say Cool? Awesome? Whatever. THe kids now days have so many sayings, that one never knows what they will come up with next, BUT, Those are great photos. I wouls love to learn to do just the simple layover. That would satisfy my needs, in identifying varieties. MAybe in my next life!

That is a nice heavy crack. I found a similar crack recenlty on an '05 SMS nickel. I see the thin hairline cracks all the time and pretty much just ignore them... but the thick ones that just jump out at you are pretty cool. I keep those.

Now what would be really cool is if you could follow a progression right back around to the rim and get some retained cuds in that box. In a batch of nickels I recently searched, I found several different stages as a large die chip formed. It may not be worth anything -- but I still find it interesting to see the progression from one stage to another.

Here is the nickel die crack I found...

That's a great crack too--and an obvious location Very Happy
If I find some later die states, I'll post them here. So far I've found about 50, and I do see some changes already.

I have a bunch of the die cracks on the quarters from the Staters Series, and have saved as many as I can, for the purpose of creating a series of photos that show the progression. nice shots!
