Bad enough it's selling for 50+ grand...but then there's a 20% buyers premium on top of that! Way too rich for my blood, but like the 69S doubled die found just last year, there is always a chance another may pop up some time...and it might be you who finds it.

Personally, I HATE the buyers premim, b because it reeks of hen-house ways, but I guess iit will have to be tolerated! Hurry up and find one Ed, it will make your day, and at the sanme time make the buyer of this other coin feel like he has been had for 20%.

Unbelievable.! Shocked As a newbie to Lincolns, I continue to be shocked by the price of some of the rarities.. Lol, I would probably pass out if I found that in circulation.. Very Happy

I'm sure that Heritage will market an auction such as this aggressively for the highest possible return. I realize that's how auctions are run, but if I won that auction I'd have issues with shouldering that extra 20%. I suppose there are fees on the seller's end too? I hope all that extra $$ to Heritage is worth it, but purely "academic" on my part since I'd never spend this kind of money! Laughing

Update: this coin must have not sold on live auction, and now Heritage has it under a post-auction "buy now" listing for $69K! Shocked

I have been trying to talk the wife into letting me sell the house to make an offer. She told me she hopes I like my new home.
