is there a sure fire way to tell if they're indeed 'satin'?
i felt like spreading my set out a bit so i picked up sets of each.. they look like any other coins.

Gription, I don't know for sure what a "satin finish" looks like, but if it is what I think it is, look close and see if it has been "peppered with very, very fine buck-shot". That is the best I can offer, and from those that I may have seen like that, it makes for very hard variety searching!
