I came across this interesting Farthing today. It appears the die was prepared using a broken date punch (see arrow):

"Lobster claw 8"--is that the name of this variety?
Thanks

In the CBH series, there is a variety of the 1818 called the Lobster Claw variety where both 8's exhibit this open top giving the appearance of a pair of Lobster Claw's. Your coin looks very similar, so I would borrow the variety name.
