The Fivas-Stanton Cherrypicker's Award for the Best Die Variety of the 2004 ANA Convention in Pittsburgh was awarded to coppercoins.com owner Chuck Daughtrey last Sunday for his find of a 1956D-1OM-001 (1956D OMM#1) cent in MS63RD condition during the show Thursday. Chuck paid a whopping 50 cents for an LDS example of the elusive "S between the 1 and 9" over mintmark.

The entry for the award was submitted by none other than Dr. James Wiles of CONECA, and was voted upon by members of CONECA.

Chuck was informed of his winning the award by Mike Diamond Sunday morning as they passed each other outside the convention hall.

Pretty cool, even though they did misspell my name. Can't complain about free press.
