I am happy to announce that I have spoken with a major numismatic publisher about printing and marketing the second edition of, "Looking Through Lincoln Cents." It appears that they have pull with Borders, Barnes and Noble, Amazon.com, and other retailers who will eventually carry the book if the deal goes through.
Some changes to the content of the book along with a change to the cover (and cover price) will be in order to prepare the already popular book for mainstream public release, but expect a minimum print run of 10,000 copies of the new edition if contract negotiations work out well.
At the same time the gentleman to whom I spoke about the book deal informed me that they are looking for knowledged numismatists to help edit out of print books for republication. Who knows...I might just get my name in the small print of some already well-known publication.
More to come as I know more...

Just curious... what changes do they recommend for "mainstream" publication?
and though I don't consider myself a knowledgeable numismatist, are there any books that I might be able to help edit for republication (I think you know what I mean)?

As for the changes...
1. Recommended that it be perfect bound for bookshelf exposure in book stores.
2. Recommended that the cover be redesigned to include a catchy phrase like "Do you really know what kind of value your pocket change has?" Something that would cause a non-numismatist to pick it up.
3. Edit changes also include misspellings and grammar corrections already suggested by others and those found by me.
4. A few minor content changes that David Lange caught - misinformation that needs to be corrected.
As for the editing part of the deal, absolutely no detail was given. That will have to be something that's brought out as I learn more about it.
