2007 BIE?

Now if i'm not mistaken a "BIE" is a cud?

So does this qualify as a BIE or is it a bubble

This looks like it very well could be a BIE. One thing it definitely is NOT is a cud. A cud includes portions of the rim where a piece of the die has broken off and only a blob of metal that was not struck remains. A retained cud has the rim to rim crack, but has been struck. What you have is a die chip, not a cud.

Mike, the same horse, but a different color. It makes no difference whether it is "BIE, IIB, LII", or in the case of the date, most cases will be a chip of varying sizes that is there. I will make a slight exception, depending on the date. With the "19", you will see the remnants of a sie clash in the first part of the date. I have a couple, that I just ran into recently, and making comparisons with both the 200xx, and 19xx, the 200 will be verty difficult to find, if at all. In the case of the "19", yes, it does show. A "BIE" error is just a die chip. It's no different than a die chip found anywhere else. This just happens to be an area that's particularly vulnerable to chipping.
