Gary, I know it was NOT one of my red rags, because I haven't worked since '81! Now for the date, I couldn't tell you the date on a cent unless I saw the rev. Then i could say wheat, or memorial. Would that be close enough?

Here's another one of my struck throughs, not as dramatic as the one were trying to figure the date of, but interesting none the less, it's a 2000 struck through multiple threads, looks like worm tracks..............................
funny how the treads cross in the middle of the coin.....

Anyone get a chance to look at reverse pic yet, and any idea of date, from what I see of the raised ridge in the flat field around America, I,ve seen this on many dates on cents......

I can't tell if it is a close AM or Wide AM. Is it copper or Copper plated Zinc? Looks like a 1989-90's reverse, but really can't tell yet? Still a great strike through cloth though.
The one with the threads I feel these are pieces of wire from a possible die cleaning. But on my example that I have the wire looks wider than your coin.
A reverse image of the second coin may reveal more about it also.

well it looks to me if i have to range years between 89 and 92 that it is a 1990 but just call this an educated guess from someone who can do 3000 piece doublesided puzzle with each side rotated 90 degrees in about an hour its hard to totally make out from looking at the front yet it seems that the cloth still left a faint impression of the date but its more of a connect the dots thing than anything else
