Well, even though I didn't get hit too hard from Faye or Gustav, ole' Ike has done a number on this area, even though it's hundreds of miles away. They closed Highway 98 between Destin and Fort Walton beach because the Gulf of Mexico is washing over the road. Tides and surf have been put at about 20-28 feet by local officials. Same thing for parts of the more western Florida Panhandle and the beaches of Alabama.
I pray that all the folks in Texas and others will get through this monster safely.
