I know these are quite common on the fifties, but has anyone ever found one from the ninties? This a 1994P

Although not as common as those from the 40s and 50s, these have been found in the 70s-2000s as well. There are quite a few in the 90s where the filled numbers are the 9s of the date.

I haven't seen any, that I recall,,but the dies are essencially the same, (other than more modern techniques in the processing, I imagine) as before. As such, the same thing happens, they strike a number of coins, have their several clashes, and begin to fatigue, and then deteriorate and crack. All this contributes to the chip-forming. That is whatyou have there. I would venture to say it will always be a part of the minting process. Best get used to it! Laughing
