Folks, I found something last night that, (for me, with my vision problem), may also come in handy for you with just the normal "tired old eyes". I search the site constantly for MM's etc. andwhikle I use an artistd grid to get some dimentions, the eye is also necessary to judge distances, etc. One thing needed is a means to make the same measurements, under a microscope. Who has anything like that, outside of a lab? Last night I needed to differenciate in several MM's that are so close, that viewing alone just does not cut it! I giot the idea usung my plastic grid, but it is so thick, as to be nearly useless. Then I split a mylar 2X2, and cut it in half. I put it in a 2X2 flip, and it works fine. I am going to try usung the plastic in the flip, (one half, and only half of that) to see if there is a difference., Using this, I am able to see thru, and judge very closely, (even with my eyes), how much separartion, or if there is none.
This has worked so well for me, I had to let it be known, so you also, can eliminate 90% of the wondering! Enjoy!

Ed, just having ten MM, (and one or two DDO?DDR) to look at, and they are so similar, I coul;dn't tell one from the other, UNTIL, I used the 'tool. It sure separated the different ones into three differen groups, and then it is just a case of measuring which one you have.
(been watching the wildfires all night, and day, so little in coin 'business" was done. The closest one to me is the Corona-Yorba Linda fire, which later included LaBrea area, as well. All are miles west, and quite a distance away, but more important, down-wind!
