I have 3 of these and would like to know something about them. All 3 are 1925. (only posting 2) The reverse "groschen" have differences in thickness of the lettering. Is this typical? How would this grade? Are they worth saving?
Thanks all, Tery

Hi Tery,
I'm not familiar with these coins, so I just took a quick look at the reverse because of the date. Scaling the coins to a roughly similar size and creating an overlay that's aligned at the bottom arrow, I see a drift between scale of the two designs. Of course, this might be completely normal tolerances--I don't know.
Comparing the denomination and the date between the two coins shows some difference in letting thickness which could be normal.
What I found more interesting was some possible doubling in the date of the left coin--a closer shot might help tell if this is MD or a double-hubbed die.

When in doubt, Ask the Governor of California. That is his homeland. Or was.

I recently sold this coin at auction for a whopping $3.75 including shipping.
