Mike, I diomn't believe it is a clash remnant, but it could be a mark left by the feeder arm, (assuming they still use that type mechanism to feed the planchets into the coining chamber, and eject the newly made coin. It is niot a die crack as far as I can see. I would suggest that, on a question of this type, that a full face shot be posted. Keep your feet warm, your "butt" dry, and your head clear! Christmas is near!

Looks like a clash would have left a mark lower than that spot. But an extreme cleaning to remove a clash in the field could have nicked the base area next to the field leaving this mark. That is what I'm thinking it is.

Mike, after looking ast the overlay, it is the vertical section of the left penthouse support. On other words, clash remnant. Compare the level of the mark,m and the level of the date.
