Coop, do you have any idea as to the value of a 10cent/1-cent mule?

I wouldn't necessarily call that a mule unless it was deliberately miss matched. If it was a Cent over a Dime restrike, then it would be an error. A mule would be a Cent on onside and a Dime on the other. A restrike would be a Cent over a dime strike. Value? Be anyone's guess.

Coop, I tried to send you a link to it, with the super-sized photos, but no luck. I sent you an email, with the ebay info. The seller is my step-son.
LATER: I checked the email info, but it doesn't give the info I wanted to convey. After I get the coin, I'll post photos.

Looks like the same coin. Nice catch. I can never afford to buy them, so I save the images to share with other collectors.
One that I do have though. It was a gift from a relative.

If I someday sell it, I will give him the money from it. He knew I like coins and he gave me a few other coins, but not as nice as this one.

These cool coins are wrong planchet errors. They are neat!
Some can be on already struck coins.
These are not mules even if the wrong planchet was already struck. To be a mule like an 11 cent mule requires mismatched dies (one die from a cent and one from a dime. Only a few real mule coins exist. The reason they call them mules is it's a coin of one denomination with another denomination on it's back (like a mule with cargo) These might have been made on purpose by sneaky mint workers. They made the Sac/quarter mules and cent/dime mules. They sell for a lot more than the neat planchet errors. I'd be very happy to find a wrong planchet coin, I'll be shocked if I ever see a real mule coin.
See the 1999 cent/dime mule:

Ed, I have an eleven cent coin, but it is a caseof the two denominations having been worked over, and joined. I knew what it was before I bought it. mt Step-son had it on ebay.

There are at least three 1c/10c mules, each representing a different die pair. They've sold for between $50,000 and $150,000.

Mike, that would be nice to know, BUT, This coin is a cent, and a dime that has been ground, and then joined. I saw the edge when it was posted on ebay. I went ahead and bought it for my own collection. The rtwo metals are very clearly seen. thanks for the info. Maybe i'll find one under mt Christmas tree! merry Christmas, and a very prosperous New Year to you and your family,
Dick
