It's hard to get excited over multi million dollar commercials paid for by companies asking for handouts from the taxpayers they're laying off. The games are in stadiums they lobbied to force the taxpayers to pay hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars for. The athletes get paid more in an hour than most taxpayers make in a year but they won't use any of that money to fund the stadiums. They could use the analogy for building malls, strip joints, bars etc.
It's wasteful spending by companies and government at it's worst.
The first states that suckered taxpayers to pay for stadiums could say it helped the local economy. Now that almost every state did the same all it accomplished was getting taxpayers to fund the stadiums, it brings little other than higher taxes since every state has new stadiums.
Aren't I negative today

Hey Dick,
LOL it's hard not to sound negative but watching spending gone crazy is a painful thing.
They seem to try everything other than slowing the spending.
The way to fix it is a law saying the gov can only spend what they took in with taxes and the governments paychecks are the last thing on the list. If their own pay was at stake they would cut spending in a day.

ED, I can't say anything about the game, because I was getting some technical help with several problems and the AV supplied computer. He made a couple changes, and went to the MFr. They came back wirh a change, and things seem to work better. He also gave me hid email addy, so If I have problems, or questions,he can walk me thru them. I think he will probably do that with the overlays in PS 7.0 He is a pretty sharp kid.. He don't know schiesen about coins, tho. He did inquire about banknotes, and I gave him a link to CCF. He showed me a nice new 1 pound note from Scotland.
I hope your team won! I used to like the Cards, but slowly lost interest in anything but baseball. I am D'Backs Fan, and have been since the inception of the franchise. I havent been to enthused with management, particularilt with thatone that was ther with Bank One I think he got a bad idea, after the D'Backs won the WS, and the next year looked like they could make a repeat. That is when the whole infield, and Kurt Schillinf were traded to the Red Socks, who subsequently won the world series. I rthink the GM, or what ever that "Dago"was had a bundle bet on them to lose, and it didn't look like it would go that way! The good thing was that there were some very good changes made, and things looked better. Then lasr year, while the D'Backs were in good shape to make the finald, (which they did), the Dodgers had a huge amount of money and bought some powerful players. The result, you know. They made it almost there, but fell on their faces. I felt sorry for the D'Backs, because they are too fad in debt to Johnson, afrter the big contract that was given when they had thae chance of the repeat, and were solld out. It will be a while before they recover, comp[letely. This country is under the same type of managemment, in that they think money is just another piece of paper that gets printed when monet gets short, instead of finding out WHY , and fixing it. We are hurting more now, than at any other time in our history. There is great danger iof the rest of the world, begins to collapse, and call in the loans, or take the collateral, to avoid total collapse of their own countyry. It has alreadty been sais by Russia, that if worse comes to worst, they will take Alaska. I doubt they could get the job done, but It will cost very high, in all areas!BTW, the Individual that I referred to as a, "a DAGO", applies ONLY to him, and not to any one ot Italian, or Italian descent! My oppologies, if anyone was offended. It was not intended for you, Just the individual concerned!

As long as people keep paying the price of tickets and satelite TV, the major sports leagues and players will make the money. Look at Hockey compared to Football or Baseball wages in this country.....
Hockey players don't make 15 mil a year, because NOBODY watches them!!!
Americans love their Football and as long as we keep buying a $129 Larry Fitzgarald jerseys, they will keep on going with their saleries and 2 million/ minute commercials.
I for one enjoy capitilism at it's best.
Beats hell out of France ant their government controlled soccer team!

Those stadiums get paid for by state tax or by raising state sales tax, the sponsors like Chase, America West, Bank1, Qualcom only pay a few million to get their name on it for a few years. The reason it adds nothing to the states is that almost every state builds them so it cancels out.
The bank sponsors got billions in bailouts. They stadiums should be paid for using money from the commercials, tickets, sales at the games or parking fees at the stadiums. By using tax money to build the stadiums and still paying the players so much is not capitalism. It's the same as Wall Street, ripping the public.

My question is: How in the world did King Crimson know Obama was going to get elected, and shoose all these nice folks for his administration? I refer to this:
"The fate of mankind
is in the hands of fools"
King Crimson - Epitaph

King Crimson first album (you know the large vinyl records) was back in 1969. Epitath was on that album.
To me, the music now-a-days has nothing on the music back then.
But they have a lot of meaning in todays world,
Like
" 10 yrs. After"--- I love to change the world, but I don't know what to do
Black Sabbeth---- War Pigs
CSNY ---- Teach
Etc

" 10 yrs. After"--- I love to change the world, but I don't know what to do
