Hi all,
I'll start by thanking you for allowing me to join your forum, as well as providing such a valuable resource. Props to Mr. Daughtrey on a commendable job.
After acquiring a collection left behind by my grandmother I started trying to figure out exactly what I really had. I was armed with nothing more than a Red Book and a small magnifier I got from a hobby shop. After getting passed all the more obvious collectibles I came to the one cent coins, and remember thinking, "What's with all the pennies, looks like a lot of work with probably no result. Needless to say I had absolutely no idea!
Well even once I realized some of the coins definitely had variations, I still wondered if I had something collectible or was just seeing things that didn't matter. Well with the help of this site, I only a couple of days ago verified my very first variety! A 1985D-1MM-001. Which is why I am posting here since it is my first experience and wanted to share. Soon as I figure out how to get a pic up I'll see what you all think. Thanks again.

Welcome to the site djrrcons! Hope you enjoy the big read. There is a lot here to examine as well as the search on the home page in the upper left area. So much to read, so many unanswered questions. If you don't see what you need to know, ask.
I'm hanging out the welcome sign just for you.
