I have no eye when it comes to seeing class 6 doubling. Looking at this 1940P, I think I see class 6 doubling here. The markers are not all here with this coin so am I seeing this correctly, is this class 6 doubling?
Rocco
In a way I hope you are correct and in a way I hope you are wrong. The problem is I am in the same boat as you are and i don't know shinola either. If you are right that means I have passed on a whole big bunch of Doubled Dies over the years probably in all denominations.~lucky2
JRocco,
You do indeed have class 6 doubling on both sides of that coin. Normally, on the obverse, the extra thickness will be seen on the bottom portion of the 9 in the date, and LIBERTY will have stretched letters. The following link shows what I mean. I believe, your coin may be this same one.

The extra thickness can be minor, up to extereme, but what you have definitely is a class 6 obverse and reverse. _________________ Bob Piazza
