Mostly Lincoln Memorial Penny Error's & hopefully I am posting in the correct thread......
I have only been into them about 2 month's now but I never realized how exciting each and every coin can be and all the detail that goes into them!
It's a different challenge every day to me..lol
It's funny how I used to laugh at my late husband for stopping traffic to grab a penny..lol
Now I do!! So I am sure he's laughing!!
I don't know the terminology you guy's use so bare with me while I learn and if you get aggravated shove me out the door..lol
I just wanted to introduce myself and say "Howdy!!" I have been scanning this board for some time and I love it,Has alot of help for the beginner!
Now to start off I have a coin I am very curious about so I'm sure you guy's know what happened to it Very Happy !!
Thanks In Advance!

Hi, and welcome!

That looks like gunk stuck to a normal coin.

That's what i thought and then i thought it looked like someone had tried to drill a hole but why not in the center, the hole goes almost entirely through it and i noticed an avatar pic here on the board's yesterday that almost looks identical except that one is around Abe's chin and neck area, that's why i was curious but it isn't gunk that comes off i do know that,Ive tried scraping it......i never clean any coins because i hear that's a big no-no in the coin world but you couldn't clean this one if you tried!

Hi, and welcome to the forum, and to the world of varieties! Would that avatar be on CCF?
