Within the next three months I expect to integrate a new price guide into coppercoins.com, which will show current values for every die variety in the system. The guide should automatically update itself with monthly updates to the price guide tables I will have volunteers help keep current.
I will need volunteers for each of the below listed price guides - and yes, before you ask, it is legal. This is not copyright infringement. I am using the price guides as a hidden source for formulating a different price guide based on the average of all price guides plus some other algorithms...using the data gathered to help formulate other data, and not republishing the gathered data is fine.
Anyhow, I will need most of the next couple of months just to write the algorithms, collect the data, place the data into the database, and test the results...so I will need others to help a little in actually typing in the data.
The list of price guides:
Coins
Coin Prices
Coin Values
CDN
NN Market Trends
I am also going to be using three undisclosed online resources for a total of five different price guides which will be used to gain an 'average' value for each date, mint, and grade of coins.
Once that average is calculated, a multiplier will be assigned to eah die, then a curve applied to the multiplier. What will come out are the most accurate values for each different grade of all the different die varieties listed on this site rounded to the nearest nickel up to $5, to the nearest quarter from $5-$15, then to the nearest dollar thereafter.
The price guide will be made available to the public for free coin by coin...meaning that you will have to be looking at the data for a given coin to see the pricing data - but it will also be available in book form for a fee, updated quarterly. The volunteers who stick with helping in this project will get their copy for a reduced fee to cover the postage.
I am currently thinking of the following pricing for the book form, which will be 15-20 pages, staple bound with a cover...something like a magazine:
Single issue: $7.95
One year (4 issues): $19.95
For my volunteers: $2.50 per copy, $10 per year.
Feedback? Questions? Comments?

This is a good idea.
It will give everybody a very good indication on what a certain coin will be worth whether having the coin on hand or buying from e-bay and/or an individual.
I subscribe to coins and nn
I'll be willing to help on this.
Thanks
Mike

Chuck, I get coin prices, and will try to be as accurate aspossible. I have CCTV, to help me see the numbers,, and will be using Zoom-Text, to fill in the blanks. hope it works out.

Okay...I have moved, it is complete, and I am ready to dig in and get to work.
One of the first things I will need to know is the following:
Who has back issues of price guide magazines running back a few years? I am especially interested in December, January, or february issues.
Let me know which one(s) and what the dates are.
thanks!

I think I only have the current issues of "Coin Prices", due to lack of space, either they might be in a carton in my shed, or got tossed!@ I have Coin values from June, 2005, to date. Would these help? I'll check the shed(s).

Hope I'm not replying to this to late.
If not, I would be more than happy to help and give something back to the site if I can. I am very grateful for the information I continue to obtain her.
There are other great forums, with some great people as well. However, this site also provided me with just the kind of important and reliable information I needed to go along with answers to my questions.
Without it, I would have surely lost interest in collecting by now, frustrated by a lack of knowledge or awareness of readily available resources. Naturally, for me at least, this results in a fear of misguidance from others since I would have no choice but to take someones word for it.
Of course in time I have learned of other respected and trusted resources, but I still find this site unique in both the type of information it provides along with the fact that it is readily available, and searchable by ANYONE who wishes to utilize it.
Please let me know if I can help.
