Kurt, Since you are so lucky in locating "out of this world" coins, I thought I would give you another lead:
Carlos III Pillar 8 Reales 1770NR-VJ, KM39.
It is worth between $60,000-$80,000 dollars. Maybe one will have an RPD, and trails, as well!

Dick, thanks for the tip! I know next to nothing on 8R coins--is that a Spanish strike, or a colonial?
I do look for a few Mexican Peso overdates such as the 1902/1, but so far I haven't turned up anything yet.

Kurt, I emailed you a copy of the article. The coin was one of a cache of 14, discovered when building a parking lot where a church once stood. The church had been burned, and later torn down for said parking lot. This happened in Bogota'. colombia. The date is unlisted, so far.
