So I found this coin yesterday and am unsure as to whether it should be listed as an RPM. The mark protrudes from the field, is straight, but doesn't have a curve that would be a definite indicator of another mintmark. This could be a gouge, but it had to be on the die pretty early because it has die wear consistent with the die wear on the rest of the obverse.
So I come here with a question...to list or not to list? Since I'm right on the fence about this one, I'll take what the majority believes as my decision.
Just in case there could be question, the mark runs up and down and is just to the northeast of the primary mintmark...

I vote no on listing it as an RPM.
I looked at lots of 1980-D cents they often have lines in that area that are straight or curved. I think the de-listed D/S was one of the many and none are convincing as RPMs. A mystery.

I agree that it should not be listed. There is just not enough there to make a determination that it is another mintmark.

I found some pics of 1980-D puzzlers.
One of them might even be the same as CDs in a different state? Position looks same and mine has a curved top.
(if it is the same look for gouges in the 8 that make the 8 look like a DDO but isn't)
First 2 small pics are the same coin in different lighting trying to show it also has gouges in the balls of the 8 that make it look like a DDO (but it's not).
First pic is another pic of the one above. Next pic is one with a phantom S. The lower one is another with a phantom S and polish lines. (maybe the debunked OMM????)

It looks just like a pic I presented to the forum about a year and a half ago and everyone's consensus : a die gouge. I say no too.
