Bob, I will agree with you, and at the same time disagree. make sense? I don't know how many members have vision problems, but for those who do, the "BOT-BUSTER" has kept me out of more than one forum, because I can't read it, and due to my also being very hard of hearing, I can't tell what the audio is saying. I wish there was a way to communicate directly with one who has the option of acceptance on any forum, and let them know the problem. Then "we" could even more, enjoy the hobby. IMHO.

I certainly understand what you are saying Dick, and I can empathize with what you are having to go through. I wish everything was as easy as 1,2,3.
However, this is not the situation in this case. You saw first hand what was happening before we started the new registration format. We were having to deal with hundreds of bot registrations a week.
I personally don't see what the problem is by having to request by email, to join the forum. I guess my biggest concern was that Brilliantcents claimed it took 3 months to get on the forum. That is just unacceptable, and I have never known that to happen. I try very hard to make sure all requests to join are done is 24 hours or less. Something happened here that I don't want to happen again...that's all....

Bob, now that you mention it, I didn't have to battle the "BOT-BUSTER"./ All I did was send an email, and was accepted right away. I hate to think what I would have missed out on, had I been met with one! whew! If it had been while Chuck was having all those health problems, I could see some delay, but that has been over for some time, or at least, he is not having them to the sam,e extent as when in FL. Three months,? Does seem to be a bit far-fetched. Maybe it just "seemed" to be that long. Who knows for sure? At any rate, he made it in, and should be happy with the data, and expertice of the various members, who have been very helpful to his needs. I hope he remembers.....

On the subject of "stagnant", I've never thought of this forum that way. Certainly this is a specialized group of collectors here, but I can always expect to see something interesting here...or at least I can post one of my obscure overdates from Sweden
On the other hand, sometimes too much activity is worse than "stagnant"--take it from someone who "moderates" another forum.

Kurt, I hadn't thought of the "overdates" quite this way, but, yes. you make a good point! I like the "moderators", too! LOL.

Dick,
According to Krause, some of these Sweden overdates are worth something--but I think you'd need to go to Europe to sell them.
As for the "cat herding", I can think of a couple recent scenarios elsewhere that gave me pause to reflect on the wealth of expertise on this forum. Suffice to say--the experts here are invaluable to the hobby.

I can honestly say that it only took Bob about 3 hours to reply to my request to join the forum.
It has been a while since I have been able to search through the coins I have right now, as some one else mentioned the honey do list getting bigger with spring here. Seems like lately every time I sit down to start looking through some of the coins I have to search, I suddenly get "honey can you do me a favor" Or "Dear I need your help for a few minutes"
Now as far as "cat herding" I have two boarder collies who actually heard a friends cats around. They not only heard the cats but any rabbits they find in the back yard, or ground hogs (woodchucks depending on where you are from), which of course they think they need to bring to back door. Oh an lets not forget all the lovely ticks they manage to get from these wild critters.
