On Friday I received my first log cabin cent in change. This has to be the latest date (May I've ever seen a new cent. And I have yet to see any other 2009 coin in change.
Coin World had an article saying the Mint is ending 2009 nickel and dime production. Cents, quarters and dollars will continue, although in smaller quantities.
I guess that's just one more sign of the recession.
So it might be a good idea to go to your local bank and buy all the new rolls (of any coin) you can?

It might be a good idea.
On one hand the new coins seem scarce but on the other hand it sounds like more cent rolls were hoarded than any other year.
I wouldn't pay a lot for 2009 coins but if I get some I'll keep them. It also might be good to save some 2008 coins, they seemed to be ignored.

robert, You have a good point. The NN says the nickel, and dime production has stopped, and the rest of the 2009 cents will be about 1,5 billion per reverse style. They are going to use the last six months for some "overdue" maintanance, and repair. The '09 cents are not worth $15.00 for a pair of rolls, one each from the "P", and "D" mints! As far as getting them from "your bank", forget it, they are not ordering them! I have a standing order for them, (and the 2008 cents as well), This since late '07! I have two boxes, maybe three of the 2008-D cents. I got them for my birthday, from my siblings.
