My never ending search for a DD. This seems doubled to me Rolling Eyes , but doesn't match any markers of the 3?
Oh yea Bob, thanks for bursting my bubble Laughing
My really good first opportunity at a DD Razz

It might be, the 8s upper ball isn't round.
Yours has a minor hit on the 8 but I'm not sure if it caused it to look that way or it might be a DDO.

Let's see what others think Smile

Good luck. 1978 has always been one of those boring, uneventful years for varieties, at least for me. I never even look at them anymore. I hope you found something.

1978 has always been a boring year as far as varieties go. After looking through thousands of them, I am beginning to question whether those on the site are actual Class 6 DDOs or not. Time to do a bit more research.

Yes I know about the 70's....I read "the book". Thats why I had to take pics, it's really in good shape. I have some more, just got 2 rolls from a friends bussiness.......Long story, but the earliest was 1960 D L.D. & the newest believe it or not was.......Are you sitting down? Yes this lovely 2009!

I was gungho on the 70's at one time and also looked thru what seemed like 1000's, maybe because I could get bu rolls real cheap. But after a while, the goal was not to find a variety, but to find adecent looking coin. Especcially 77, 78 and 79.

Sweet deal on the 2009. It's like finding gold these days. I had the attitude of "i'll just wait for them to show up", but not anymore. With this being the lowest mintage in over 5 decades and a short 3 month run to boot, these are impossible to find. I have kids living all over the country and i've put all of them on high alert. A manhunt you might say.

rock, your comment: "Sweet deal on the 2009. It's like finding gold these days". i'll have to sy, I know where to find gold, and be sure of getting some. Not so on the 2009 cents! They almost are non-existant, "out west"!

Well Dick, they are nothing more than a topic of conversation here in nashville. the tellers are getting real aggravated with everyone always asking for them. But...persistence will pay off.
BTW, I did order my 2 rolls from the mint on the 2nd round. I won't miss the boat on those.

I like the second design is the series better than the first by far. Found six rolls of the P mint the other day.
