Found this tonight:

I had a devil of a time getting the die scratches, (polishing marks), but maybe you can see them, below VDB, and toward the corner of the bust. Do I get a cigar, or the finger?

Dick: I see a normal coin from the images. Maybe some other shots might help?

Coop, I couldn't find any markers, and the only thing left was the scratches. I am going to make an overlay, of the date, and the scratches. just out of curiosity. I need the practice, and this will be hard to do. BTW, anyone have a match? Embarassed
NO Cigar, but I guess I'll have to use Bull Durham, the "roll-your-own", type. I did get the date right!

Can you get the E of WE and BER of LIBERTY?
That will tell you if it's a class 6.

Here is a class 6 that is from a different mint from that year.

Your hilarious. I can't see the details to well to tell, the coin is too far away, but have a cigar anyway. The die scratches came out real nice on the pic.

Coop - the coin you posted images of is a different mint and different class than the one Dick is trying to match to. I don't understand why you posted it.

Dick - I see nothing out of the ordinary on your coin. What you would be looking for in die #1 is separation in the motto. I don't even see an image of the motto.

I was showing what a class 6 die on the 9 would look like. This isn't visible on Dick's coin.

And the class 6 extra thickness would not show on 1937P-1DO-001 either. It's a class 2 die.
