Hi everyone, long time no post. Came across an odd find and couldn't pass it up. A guy I work with brought in 2 old ammo boxes each weighing 70 lbs and filled with early 80s unc shotgun rolls. I've had a quick look and all seem to be either 80, 81, 81-D, or 82 large date copper. Anyway he showed them to me back in Jan or Feb and now needed money for vacation. I caught him trying to take them to the bank on Friday and told him I'd take them for face value. He agreed and let me have them. Cool. Not too valuable but all the same, interesting. My question is;
how many people still have these kind of numbers of unc pennies? I'll have the official count of each date and MM in the next hour...

Ok, here's the grand total.
1980-----1050 coins
1981-D--800 coins
1981-----5500 coins
and the whopper
1982 LD copper----11100 coins! I guess that's over 2 bags.
Unfortunately due to a family illness, I have to move up north to Philly PA really soon and I probably will have to sell these without looking thru them. I really need money right now and I figure someone on ebay might pay me 1.25 to 1.5 to 1. They are copper so that's good even though I think the 82 LD zinc is one of the rare ones. So anybody out there have me beat with the 82s?? Ha Ha. Weird stuff.

I think the word "hoard" is used loosely.

I thought it was "past tense".

You can't go wrong, at least they're backed by the price of copper.

Right, and I'm going thru a box of COPPER! Found a 1914, but it did't have a "D"! I guess they only come one with a box.
