You should be aware that some of the most frequent victims of predatory lending are military personnel. Shall we dismiss their plight? Or shall we enact reasonable regulatory mechanisms to prevent naive purchasers from being buried under fine print? _________________ President of CONECA; Host of Error Coin Information Exchange (Yahoo:Groups). I agree with you Mike but on the flip side we get a lot more for our buck than the non military.
my down payment for instance. who paid that? the seller did.
the sellers have to bow down to the military per say and it may be wrong ( not in my mind though) but our military should get a place to put their family while they are over in the dust pit. some go overboard but most don't because the lenders wont let them. or the good lender anyway.the Military makes a lot more today than they did when i was active duty.
I remember cashing my check every month and it was maybe $76.00 if i remember right.we also had what we called the flying 20. that was when i first went in. they gave you a 20 dollar bill on one end of the room or voucher not sure anymore that was a long time ago. but you went down the line and someone gave you your equipment that you needed to get through the day (this was during VN) so you get the idea what we needed. but by the time you got to the end of the room they took your twenty. sorry guys i got off track and subject but am going to post it anyway just because for me them was the good ole days and i just relived it for a few seconds and it was great

Another difference from the Carter years is that the banks dont want to borrow our money anymore. Back then there were banks giving 20 percent interest on cd's. Try gettin 2 percent now. They get low interest loans from the fed so why use our real money.
