Has anyone else ordered the rolls from the mint? I ordered some and they are "in stock and reserved" but have not shipped out yet. I hear of people selling them for over $50 a set. I hope my order doesn't get cancelled.

I've been asking around at some of the banks in Nashville. No 09's yet. One bank said they were expecting some towards the end of April. My future son-n-law's mother is a bank vp here so I'm going to see if she wouldn't mind checking into getting some for me or at least let me know when and where I can get some.
Everyone's right about tons of coins being cashed in causing the banks to be overloaded and not needing to order from the feds. Although I'm looking forward to the 09's, I am happy about having a lot of coins that were stashed away for years finally coming into circulation. Like Dick said, better opportunities for us collectors to find some good stuff.

The cents are still tough to find. I still haven't seen a dime or nickel from 2009, check out the bidders going after someones single 2009 dime. I wonder how much it sells for???? At the current bid.... a roll of dimes would be a $1000+ roll.

It's up to $26 right now. Unbelievable! I usually don't do anything other than Lincolns but I asked my bank yesterday for anything 2009. None to be had.
My daughter found 4 rolls of the 2009-D Lincolns for me so I'll have at least those for now.

WOW that dime price = $2500 for a roll.
(I doubt that price would hold up, there can't be that many buyers at that price)

Here's a 2009 nickel on there also going for moon money:

Can someone elaborate on what a 1st issue is? My brother and a friend went to Springfield, IL this week for this event.

http://www.coincollectingnews.org/us-mint-launches-third-lincoln-penny-design-in-springfield-illinois/104711

He is not a coin collector but his friend is. His friend told him the rolls they bought were worth $75 apiece. He also said they waited at the post office to have some special stamp put on them after purchase. I am not familiar with this type of event. If any one is I would appreciate some insights.

My brother is unemployed at the moment and if he thought they were worth what this guy was saying he would probably sell them to make some money.

The best advice might be to get those rolls on ebay right away. The first sellers get moon money but it cools off fast.

I just started tracking an Ebay sale of the same coins and I think his friend's estimate was way off.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280385637698&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en

At least his cost was only a little time and the price the treasury was selling the coins for.
