I am new to the forum and coin collecting (6 months). I have found a 2000 wide AM, a 1982 no P dime, and over the weekend I pulled a 1980 ddo out of a bucket of change I been going through. I do not have the gear to take pics but if I can find some one to help then I will post them. Either way this is 100% the one. the coin is in 40-53 condition but has two black spots on the memorial. The obverse is very nice but has some slight damage on the bottom of the b in lib which takes away some of the doubling in that letter. Over all the coin has a very nice color (with the exception of the dark spots noted). When checking the die markers I do not see the heavy polishing noted in the details. Not sure if im just not seeing it or if this is an earlier die state. I would like to get some idea of estimated mintage or graded population of the coin. Also value estimates and would like to know if this is a popular variety. I cant seem to find much info any which way i google it. Also curious if it would be worth my while to have it graded and encapsulated any help will be appreciated.

Welcome!

Yes the 1980 DDO is a good one.
One of the better modern DDOs.
If you think it would grade without problems it might be worth it and in any case it's a keeper if you pulled it from change.
Smile

The listing for it:

Welcome to Coppercoins Jimstar2009. I'll hang out the welcome sign for you:

Make sure the doubling is like the coin below. A lot of ones identified are machine doubling. (I've found one like it in the past and still don't have a real one) But check the LIBERTY to match to this image. Then you know that you really have one.

I especially like the date on this DDO, because each digit shows some separation. Congrats on finding one!
