Wow... a new all-time high for gold today. Do you think it will continue to rise? If so, how high will it go?

Robert, Yes I expeceted it to get up there, eventually. Some say it will hit $5000.00, but I doubt that, knowing of several copuntries that have the habit of dumping large quantities of gold on the world market, when their money gets into trouble. It might hit $2500.00, but I doubt it will be in my life time, or my grandkids, for that matter. I look for silver to hit triple digits, but it will be a few decades for that to happen. The main users that will affect it are China, India, and several asian minor countries. IMHO.

It's more that the dollar is dropping in value than gold going up.

If you track gold in most other currencies then gold is not at an all time high.

Ed, what you say is true. I haven't been keeping up with the other curriencies, against the gold values, but I remember in Mexico that gold was very expensive.
the last several administrations have not given the dollar any reason to be worth more than it is. The same could be said about the US, as a whole. The country has been going to hell in a hand--basket for several decasdes. We used to be respected. Now we are the one who is most disrespected. The only thing that Obama, and FDR have in common is that they both spoke softly. Obama doesn't carry a big stick. Rether has taken up the custom of "ass-kissiong"! We, as a country, are in big trouble, and no one has guts enough to stand up and do something! I best let this dog lie.....
