Today is my first day of official retirement from 32 yrs. @ BPAmoco. I hope all of my friends here can experience the feeling of absolute FREEDOM overwhelming me today. Now all that madness is over I hope I can be of more help here as I just couldn't do in the past.

That is fantastic. I am very happy for you. Perhaps a little jealous.

Congrats Doug! I too am happy for you. I felt that way when I retired after 24 years in the Air Force. It has been 9 years since then, and I am still out there working, but only because I want to...not necessarily because I have to. Enjoy your freedom. After 32 years at BPAmoco, you deserve that feeling!

I echo the sentiments of Joe.
Congrats!
More time for coins... that must be nice!

Congratulations Doug. Unfortunately I am 20+ years away from retirement. Not that I want to get old quick but it would be nice to have more time for hobbies like golf, coins, etc. When I do retire my message to the other folks on Coppercoins will be "the end of shiftwork" without the f in shift.

One thing I've learned, too late, was to find a SOLID financial advisor and get an account going. All I ignorantly ever did was invest in company stock to 500k but if I had the chance again I'd be in much better shape moving $$$ here and there and riding trends over the course of the years. You don't have to start BIG but START an account with what ever you can and set your jaws to put in a certain amount every pay. Over the course of the years you'll be smiling when your retirement day occurs as well.

Good going Doug! I'm happy for you! I wish I could retire, but my time hasn't come yet. No telling when it will.
Does this mean I can call you any time now?
