I'm new to the sight but curious about this one. I'm pretty sure it is an RPM but none of the markers match up for a 1939D-1mm-001. Could it be a possible new RPM? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking that's strike doubling that only shows on the D.
The reason is that the primary image narrows as if the strike doubling took a chomp out of the normal image.

Lets see what others think.

It looks like a case of isolated machine doubling.

I agree also that it is machine doubling. Nice looking coin though.
