Here's a fine example of what I tell people regarding searching everything because you never know what you might discover. This is a brand new 1976D RPM, unknown until yesterday.

Repunched mintmarks are virtually unknown for any Lincoln cent in the mid to late 1970s, and I discovered this one in a BU roll last night. To date it is the best known bit of proof that RPMs do exist for cents in the latter half of the 1970s. They are just exceedingly scarce and very difficult to locate. CONECA still does not list any RPMs for 1976D (or 1977D - or 1978D for that matter).

BTW, I have three examples available in R/B mint state if anyone is interested.

Congrats on the tough find Chuck! I wouldn't mind adding one to my personal collection if you don't mind.

Ken, did you just find it after Chuck found his or did you already have one you discovered? This is neat stuff. I have some rolls I have never searched only because I concluded there was "nothing" to find. I guess now I know the truth.

Unless the "roll" you mention is one you have searched thoroughly, and KNOW there is nothing there, one can't be too sure, "there is nothing to find"!

And just to tail-end that...I have none left available. Snooze you lose. I doubt I will find any of these again any time soon.

A beautiful find! I hope you locate a few more of those late 70's MM's. If it is one thing this site taught me, it is to look at every cent...again, good find!
