Got down to 2 below here last night...evidently this isn't the end of things to come. Friday night's low is expected to be 14 below. If it gets that cold, it will be the coldest I've ever seen it get here, and will be the fifth coldest temperature ever recorded here. Coldest was -29.
Only problem is that I will be in Florida when this is going on. Not only do I want to experience it, but there will also be snow, and I hate laying the burden of transporting my kid on my mother when it's this cold.
Okay, folks...who let the fire burn out??

Chuck, the "forecast" is not good. Due to the JetStreams being so far South of their ,sic, normal location, the winter will be similar to those of the mid 30's. Keep your long-johns handy.
When this series of storms came thru here, (CA), we had 6.29 inches of rain, in about 10 days. That is more than the anual total we usually, (not normal), get. Ca was once known as the land of the "licquid sunshine", because it rained so much. Due to the decades of drought, we have lost a major portion of the foresets.

They tell us here in West Kentucky that this cold spell is the third longest since they began to keep records of it here...and I am ready for it to stop...where is Spring anyway? Well...I might be jumping the gun a bit, eh?

I don't know what everyone is "bitching about"? it has been mid, to upper 70's here..... Just think, Winter just started a couple weeks, or so ago. March is a long way off! And that is just to start Spring. It still snows on Mothers Day in AZ I have seen snow in june, there , also. I always liked the snow, but never could find any love for the clear nights, and "hard-freeze nights. I guess I am not a kid any more...

What a difference a week makes around here. While we still have large piles of plowed snow, and about an inch left in the shadows, the pack is quickly melting off, and the high today was 52. Felt like t-shirt weather.
No sign of winter approaching again, so we'll likely lose this snow altogether before getting more.
