Those 2010 cents are strange looking.
That shield is ok but seems odd on a modern coin.
I have not got one yet, just looking at pics.

Ed, I saw the pictures, and agree, it is not in keeping with the times. It looks like something from the Vikings
I used to marvel at the beauty of our coin designs, but I huess that is a thing of the past. I suppose the 2011 will be a blank planchet, with EPU, IGWT, and the Date. In the center will be an ornaste Dollar sign, or the cent symbal. On the REV, will be only USA

Coop, I normally would agree with you, but, i was very fortunate in that My Mother-in-law, was an Angel! She was one of those you only dream of having. I was lucky, like I said. Mine was a "real lady, and warched my back, all the time. NO ONE was allowed to do anything to her Norte Americano Yerno! I guess if she hadn't fallen, when she was 98, she might still be around. she fell, and broke her hip, where the thigh-bone attaches to the socket, and it never healed. She didn't like having to move about in a wheel-dhair, and be lifted into, and out of bed, so I guess she just lost the will to live. She was quite a lady! She would be 112 in August.

Here is a link with pictures of the new design

Based on the write up you are stuck with this design for a long time.

If my vote would have been the deciding vote for the reverse, I would have voted for the EAGLE in a nanosecond!.. I wonder how many of the Democrats are als, " Damn Yankee's" as well? Altho it is not that well known, AZ was considered a Southern state, during the civil war. So we ttend to be sensative about certain things. The design was changed on the FE cents, due to it's being unpopular with the people. I see no reason not to make the same decision, with that new design! Needles to say, there are a hell of a lot more peopple with voting rights. I would even go along with the "white House". It does indicate a Democratic nation, but the EAGLE, to me denotes FREEDOM!!!

Here are some pictures of the new cent. Lincoln's obverse bust is much like the 1909 version; however, it is just to soft and wont last long.

I happen to think it's far better than the memorial design. And I like the fact that they went back to the better looking Lincoln.
BJ...Any way at all you could send one of those my way? All I need is one.

Chuck, I have to agree with you on the OBV. I thought they might have chosen a REV with more "color", but it is what they wanted, so be it.
BJ, if you have any left over, you might send me one, too. "If I gotta live with it, I just as well get used to it". Thank you. BTW Both of you keep warm, 'cause it's gonna get cold!

the obverse is that of the 1909 Lincoln cent; a much "softer", less angular bust. However, I feel that it maybe to soft and will need some strengthening to bring out Lincoln's features.
