With all the hysteria concerning defective Toyotas, it's important to remember that getting in ANY car is far more risky than getting into a Toyota specifically. There are 30,000 or so vehicular fatalities a year vs. the 26 or so that can be blamed on Toyota defects over several years.

Thanks for the link, Coop. Good point, Mike. I would rather take my chances in any car than have to worry about all the people talking on phones, texting, eating, reading..... while driving. It is not a matter of hitting someone or something anymore, it is trying to avoid being hit.

The new cars are like fly by wire planes. Your pedal moves a potentiometer and a computer reads it and controls the fuel. If it screws up you might crash.
With older cars, if that return spring broke the same thing happens.
Yea that mower thing is funny too!
