This is the first I have seen in hand, it's gotta be one! Although it's foreign. My new client has a chef who went home to Paraguay & I asked if he'd just get me a couple coins. I got lucky:) It's a 1986 50 guaranies. He said about 4000 equal 1 American $....

up! That's definitely a doubled die! A lot of times people's first experience with a major doubled die is on a foreign - myself included.
I lived in Germany in the late 80s and checked my German change too. I was sitting in the car one morning waiting for my wife to come out with her paycheck before riding off to a - coin show - and found a major doubled die on the eagle side of a 1988 2 Mark coin sitting in the console tray in the car. I thought it was really cool! I took it around to some of the German coin dealers, and they had no interest, even though this thing was doubled like the 1972 US cent...really obvious class 1 doubling.
Anyhow, a Lt. Colonel in the Army ended up buying it from me for $100. That was a good haul for less than a buck, so I sold it. I now wish I still had it. I have no clue how rare those are.
