To all concerned:
I just received am email from me,(azbrushape), no @ or other aol type address, selling me a swiss watch, "Replica". I don't know who to report it to, so i am advising all who know my email address to be very wary, if it comes, w/o the "@aol.com"! As of now, that address will have to be changed, (it is the master name, so the account will also have to be cancelled, and re done with a new name.
Any ideas???
Dick

Dick,
This is a common problem with SPAM, and is easily done. I receive many Emails from myself. This does not mean that they will use your email address to get to other people in your address book. 'sent to' address. It is not necessary to replace your email account name/address as this can and will happen no matter what your email address.
I have found over time that this is infrequent. A pain in the butt...yes, but worth changing everything on your end...definitely not.

Hi Bob, thanks for the info. I reported it to aol, and told them to cancel, and opwn a new account, but they came on line with a live operator, (not live chat), , and thru the emails, we worked it out.. I am going to increase my SPAM controls to known only!. they said it is just a scam. Because it had never happened before, I didn't know what it was.. not bad, considering that i have been on aol for nearly 20 years. Have a nice day, it's nice here.

Dick,
Like Bob said don't get too concerned. There are sites that let you send messages with anything you want as the "sent from".
I got a bunch from George Bush LOL......

If I got one of those, I'd REALLY be worried!
I'll jack up the SPAM control to allow coin collectors, only!
