Drinking with an Arizona Girl
>
> A Mexican, an Arab, and an Arizona girl are in the same bar.

Let me guess Dick, you are in favor of that new immigration law. Just put your Arizona girl on the boarder.

I am a little conflicted over the immigration issues. I am a genealogy nut and have traced the arrival of many immigrants in my tree. I know however, they were not engaged in drug trafficking, people smuggling or terrorism. We have to do something to address the problem and having the President of Mexico lecture the US Congress on the issue is just stupid.

Lets hope they find a decent candidate for next time that at least looks at the real issues before saying "naughty naughty".

I didn't hear the address, so i can't comment, (on it).
I believe Calderon is a good President, and wouod help the US "fix" the border problem, if WE had a president that knew his A$$ form a hole in the hround! One that doesn't go around kissing the terrorist's A$$, and bowing to the Kngs, and Queens. He is on a par with them, NOT their subject! If the decision were mine to make, he would be told to resign, and the sooner, the better! Biden is no "king of the huill", but might do a better job. All he woukld have to do is help clean up the mess OBAMA has created.
Being from Arizona since 1927, I think they nade a step in the right direction, BUT, they are going about it the wrong way. They should call out the AZ national Guard, and place them on the border, to stop the flow. Then call all citizens of Mexican origin, or descent, to wear theis ID cards at all times. Anyone not carrying the cars in plain vieew would be asked for ID. Then loade the ones w/o the ID on a bus, and head for Nogales! Anyone caught with false ID would go to jail, and then be deported, W/O eligibility for legal re-entry. Sop much for AZ. The next thing to do is legalize all controlled drugs, so that the addicted could get their "fix", but at a price: They would have to sign up fot a "De-tox" program. Once the drugs are here, and free, the Narcotraffic will come to an end. Once the border is secure, the illegal flow will end.
Then make it a policy to "speak softly, and carry a big stick"! NOT the current policy, "hide the stick, and keep the "smoocher moist"!
Am I pissed? You better believe it! They are screwing with MY country!

Steven, I wrote the truth, and it timed out, so i'll just let it rest......I love the Mexican people, but I don't like the way they are going about getting what everyone wants, "a little better life"!

Dick
I totally agree with you on everything except one. Calderon. He does not want to stop the flow of illegals coming into the U.S.. If he did than just think of all the money they would lose coming back into his country from all the illegals in the U.S.
As far as his comments about the AZ law, he has no room what so ever to talk. On their Southern Boarder they have have a shoot to kill order for anyone caught trying to cross into their country from Central America illegally.
Hmmm maybe you are on to some thing with national guard, except post a few signs letting them know they are now in a area in which the national guard has orders to shoot to kill anyone attempting to cross.

Both governments do everything possible to keep the border not sealed.

I fully back the "new" law that the Ar gov just signed, it just makes the federal law be required to be enforced.
I grew up next to a mexican family in California, and they were good friends and neighbors. But if you are illegal you have to expect trouble. You cant march in the streets claiming discrimination because you are a criminal and have no rights in this country.
My state is bankrupt in part because of all the programs funded by taxpayers for people with no insurance or no motivation to work, illegal immigrants fall into one or both of those categories.
It is also stupid to think if they all were deported to whatever country of origin they are from, that the farms and businesses would fail, that would just maybe turn the tables to where the unemployed today could find work.
Ill tell anyone, if I didnt have my job right now, then I would take any work I was physically or mentally able to do.

Phil, I agree with you in essence, but I also know firsthand, what it is like, working the fields. when i was a kid, i picked 'pickles' for the Arnold Pickling copany. I was the ONLY "gringo' in the fields. If they go, it WILL present a hardship rof the produce, and several other industries, because the average american just will not "lower themselves to doing "menial labor"1
If the Feds, had done their job, when it should have been done, we would not have the problems we have now, and have had for many years. Especially when they thought "amnesty' would do the trick. it 'backfired, and now they have a compounded problem. it isn't going to get relolved as easy, (sic) as the other munch did.
AZ has the right idea, and i am all for it. I live in XA, but AZ is my home, and has been since 1927.

Dick,
I have heard that a few local cities have come forward to say they support the Ariz aproach, Hemet for one, and I think Wildomar too.
I am waiting to hear about Lake Elsinore.

And thanks for setting me straight on the degree that we rely on immigrant labor. I don't want to buy Chilean fruits and vegetables year round.
