I was reading the thread about the patterns, etc, on the lincoln cents, and mada a comment about what I thought in the respect. then my feeble mind "kicked into gear" and I just about hi-acked the thread! Only, thing, before I hit the submit button, I rtealized what had happened, and "cut" it loose. Here it is.....

I went into coins a couple years before I retired, but only world coins. Then in '63, In Mexico, got into Mexican Colonial, and the coins of the "Reforma Mexicana". Again in '83, went into type sets, but split out into dates, and all denominations. On my return in '88, the sets all went "to feed the kids". I didn't get back into collecting until about 2005. That is when I went from collecting all denominations, to lincolns, and then to varieties. That has expanded to include the FE/IHC, and Canadian sets. Then I turned to Small cents, and now into "Vickys" varieties. Except for the major keys, I have completed sets of the lincoln, and FE/IHC. Currently waiting for the last of my "tribe" to come home, then will concentrate on the "Vickys".
Where do patterns fit in here?

I always though the best way to run in circles was to nail one foot to the floor.

MR Putty-Tat, has a point!
As far as "Patterns are concerned, I doubt I would ever get into them. Too many nice varieties out there! But If I did win the lotto, you can be sure the holes in my sets would get filled! It goes without saying, I would have to re-fill all the other holes, too. Wouldn't want to oput all my "problem-Children" to shame.
Ed, I am currently setting up a set of numbers to "wheel". I figure that, if I can win when i go to the casino, (but never have been able to escape with it). Instead of leaving it there, I just as well play the Mega Millions, and with the knowledge that I will lose $20.00, if I don't win, and Who knows what amount, if I should win!
I can't handle the loss of $200-500.00 everytime i go to the casino. I DO win, good winnings everytime I go, but not driving, and not having the choice on how to get back home, I slowly put it back in. will be much cheaper, (for me), in the long run! Sort of a "Catch-22".
No problem, I undersrtand I won't be able to take it with me, (when I go).
BTW, Hot enough for you in AZ? It is about as hot as it will get, (for this high pressure ridge). Don't forgrt, it is only Spring.....
