I just posted an image on photobucket (pb) and have a question about the coin, this is my first image post, or attempt.
I can see a definate line in most of the vertical letters of "Liberty" the image illustrates "LI".
Does anyone have an opinion? Was it just something common on the die within the concave letters?
I have seen other coins like this also.
I just hooked up a better LED illumnator for my scope, and switched to manual exposure control and can take other shots if someone wants to see it differently.
Now for the test:[/img][<a href="http://s1026.photobucket.com/albums/y329/mojaveblue_3/?action=view¤t=Image486.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/y329/mojaveblue_3/Image486.jpg" border="0" alt="54_2006 DDO"></a>][/img]
Sorry, I can't figure it out. I am gonna try to find other posts with info on this.

It's definitely not a doubled die. I have seen the anomaly on many coins, but to be honest, I can not tell you how it happens. It could be machine made, or simply a surface imperfection of some sort.

I thought, at first view, it was MD, but it just soesn't fit that , either. I had to check the date, to be sure it was a zincoln. There seems to be a lot of "residue', for lack of a better word, next to the devices, especially the letters, and numbers.

thanks guys,
I'll glaze over those anomalies from now on, and in the future I'll specify the coin, ie: Lincoln, Flying Eagle or Indian.
Is there a way to donate to your website maybe Paypal or something?
