Hey guys,
I haven't visited here in a while and now I realize that I miss this forum.
Just wanted to show a nice Clamshell error on a 1980 Lincoln.
Now let me go catch up on some of what I have missed.

First time I've heard of a "Clamshell" error. Pretty cool!

Is this generally referred to as a "Split-Planchet error" or is it considered something totally different.

A clamshell is classified as a Hinged Split Planchet Error
It is a planchet which has been split in two, parallel to the faces, but remains joined.
It is not usual to see it on a copper cent and carries a rarity level of 6-7, Very rare to extremely rare (1-100 pieces).

Hey Chuck,
How are you?
Yes I found this in my pocket change. I was tired and almost missed it before dumping it in the change jar.

Relatively healthy, relatively happy, and still don't have two nickels to rub together...things are okay, but I would love to be able to organize my life a little better - who wouldn't?

Boy you got that right Chuck.

But don't forget one thing you have that many only dream about... the respect of a lot of people.
I am one of those people.
Talk to you soon,
John
