Mintmark or anomaly?

Anyone care to put forward an opinion on this? It's a 1952 D Lincoln cent. Is it a mintmark or a die chip?

From here it looks to me like it's just a partially filled "9" in the date. It's a coincidence that it looks like a "D".

Or am I not seeing what you see?

Robert is right. 1952 did have a few examples where there were die cracks and chips inside the 9 of the date. The example you posted is indeed one of those.
